Study Tips
Here are some useful tips & tricks that will help to improve your fluency in no time!
Practice speaking English in front of a mirror or on camera:
Speaking fluently isn’t just about saying the right words. It’s also about body language, tone, intonation and confidence. So practice speaking in front of a mirror, paying close attention to your gestures, expressions or posture. You can even have a friend or family member give you feedback.
Change the language of your phone or computer to English:
There is a lot of useful information and vocabulary that you can gather from changing the language on your phone. Much of this vocabulary can be transferred to other aspects of life. Moreover, it will help you to think and visualise words automatically in English.
Use a pronunciation app and a voice recorder:
The English language has some weird rules and sometimes the best way to know the right pronunciation of a word is to check the dictionary. There are also apps that use voice-recognition software and tell you if you’re pronouncing words the right way or not. You can also record your own voice and play it back to check your progress.
Watch English media content:
Watching English movies, T.V. programs and series is great to work on your listening and comprehension. A good trick is to watch things that you have seen before. This way you aren´t following the plot or character development (as you already know the story), you are only listening to the English. And remember; using English subtitles is NOT cheating!
Listening to podcasts:
Finding podcasts on topics that interest you is the perfect way to immerse yourself in the language, “killing two birds with one stone”, so to speak!
